The beginning of something new has emerged…
My name is Kevin Flora and I am a student at the University of Kentucky. Currently working for the Department of Educational Leadership and CASTLE, I intend to bring light to a new subject area: Education Informatics. For years, our data has been displayed through bar graphs, line graphs, pie charts, and other basic types of graphics. Over the past decade, software developers have been creative and brought about the bar graphs that look 3D and others have attempted to be more creative with Powerpoint presentations to incorporate video or sound effects. Although this positive progress continues to keep students and practitioner’s attention during classes and meetings, there is a realm of data visualization that has yet to be divulged. Different fields have been developing new and futuristic outlooks for data visualization, and now it is education’s turn!
The ideas, content, collaboration, and use of the latest technology on the market will catapult the engineering of this field of Informatics into the future. More information is to hoped for, more knowledge is to gain, and more insight is to be unveiled in the future of this blog! :)
Join in the conversations and challenge yourself to view data in a new way.
